This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Hi, I’m requesting this global right to help revert vandalism and other disruptive edits by LTAs and spammers across Wikimedia projects.

I have been an active contributor on Wikipedia since 2014 and have experience in anti-vandalism work as an Admin on de-wp and former Checkuser as well as recently temp-admin on glk-wiki, to stop an LTA who vandlized the project over a longer period at times where global admins were rarely active. Seeing temporary account IPs would help identify proxies.

I am also a former member of the German ArbCom. I have read the global rollback policy.

But I wouldn't expect someone applying for GR to get into an edit war with a vandal and make 12 back to back reverts, especially when it happened just yesterday. Because of the Great Firewall, I've requested for IPBE in zhWiki. When I upload images to wiki commons it shows my IP has been global blocked , so I request for global IPBE to upload file into wiki commons逝水流觞 (talk) 03:47, 24 July 2026 (UTC)

You can apply for the IPBE of WikimediaCommons.

In addition, if you live in mainland China, you can directly access WikimediaCommons instead of using a network proxy. Because it is not within the blockade of GFW.

Global IP block exempt for Font8388608

Because of the Great Firewall, I have requested and been given the IPBE right on the Chinese Wikipedia. But as time passed, I have found that I am not goot at building an encyclopedia and only made tens of maintenance edits there. Therefore, my work has transitioned from making the said edits to translating pages into Chinese, fighting vandalism globally and creating entries on the Chinese Wiktionary.

In the past, the IP address I used to access all Wikimedia websites had not been blocked, but I have found that I cannot use this IP address to do this anymore. Though I can access Wikimedia websites except for Wikipedias without using an open proxy, fighting vandalism globally requires accessing Wikipedias and all the IP addresses I now can use to do that have been globally blocked. Also, I don't have a stable Internet connection when accessing the Chinese Wiktionary without using an open proxy.

I have understood Wikimedia policies and will use this permission only for constructive and legitimate editing activities.

I am applying for GIPBE for the following purposes:

Uploading files to Wikimedia Commons: sometimes I need to upload resources when writing Chinese articles.

Editing English Wikipedia: I read it regularly and would like to make edits as well.

When translating, I need to edit Wikidata to enable language links.

The reason I am able to apply here now is that I am in mainland China, and it seems Meta-Wiki has not blocked my IP range yet. I have to use a proxy the entire time; sometimes I can edit and sometimes I cannot, which has caused me some inconvenience. --维尔汀 (talk) 10:51, 17 August 2026 (UTC)

English: I have already been granted local IP block exemption on Chinese Wikipedia (by admin 千村狐兔 on Feb 19, 2026, verifiable via my zh-wiki talk page).
