Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat (at Meta-Wiki only)

Meta-Wiki has a small active community. When a normal user requires the assistance of an administrator or bureaucrat for some particular task, it is not always easy to find one. This page helps users find one when they need one; asking specific admins directly via their talk pages is one way to elicit a fast response. It is only for assistance required at Meta-Wiki, help for other wikis needs to be requested at those wikis.

Blacklist shortcuts

@Lp0 on fire recently retargeted SBL to Talk:Spam blacklist. It used to be a disambiguation page, which is now at SBL (disambiguation) (the {{disambiguation}} does not seem to support "(disambiguation)" titles), but that page is not even linked from anywhere. Meanwhile, TBL links to Title blacklist (rather than the talk page), which has a notice about MediaWiki:Titleblacklist at the top. Would it be better to point SBL to Spam blacklist with a similar note to MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist? ~~~~

I targeted SBL to the talk page because as a shortcut I felt it should point to the page that people are likely to want to navigate to. It's not obvious to me what benefit there would be to adding an extra click to the workflow of reporting a URL (and if an admin wants to action a request, including a request of their own, they're still likely to go to the talk page first, either to see the report or to document their addition and provide a comment to be given to {{sbl-log}}). Retargeting the shortcut to the page itself would be neater but I'm not sure it would be helpful. The title blacklist is a much lower-traffic page and not one I have really engaged with, so I can't say whether it's more helpful to have a shortcut for the page itself or the talk page. lp0 on fire () 20:52, 22 September 2026 (UTC)

At least as an admin, when I enter "SBL" I would want to get to the blacklist, e.g. to check what domain is on it (though personally I mostly interact with the title blacklist). To me it seems more intuitive. At least the note about MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist should be added at Spam blacklist, and the disambiguation page should probably be deleted. ~~~~

Note that I have prepared some users based on User:Krd/inactive admins, with some manual checking.

• For automatic removal: TheSandDoctor (3 edits)
• For proposed removal: Amire80 (4 actions), Anthere (1 action), Base (4 actions), Beetstra (4 actions, all editing protected pages), Ferien (3 actions - note that if removed, should stay as limited admin as member of the U4C), Kaganer (0 actions), Leaderboard (3 actions), Lustiger seth (4 actions), TenWhile6 (1 action), Красный (2 actions - is a limited admin but goes under regular inactivity policy as a permanent such admin)
