Brixton Wikimedia Meetup Number 17

[edit]

Monday 27th July 6pm-8pm

Brixton Library, Brixton Oval, Brixton, London SW2 1JQ

This will be the seventeenth monthly meetup at Brixton Library led by the librarians with Wikimedia editing experience. It is open to all editors established, slightly confident and even the very new.

Location

[edit]
Brixton Library, SW2 1JQ

Brixton Library is on Windrush Square, in central Brixton, 2 minutes walk from Brixton tube station (Victoria line), Brixton mainline train line and also served by many buses.

(OpenStreetMap) (Google Maps)

We will meet on the ground floor of the library, near computers 5-8 and very close to the graphic novels.

How it works

[edit]

If you've never been to a Wikimedia Meetup before, it's just a very friendly, casual get-together where we can talk about our shared hobby. If you're a total newcomer to the wiki world, or just curious, you're welcome to come and talk to experienced wiki contributors.

Agenda and themes

[edit]
BCA staff members with archival materials

We are working with the Black Cultural Archives' Wikimedia project to help enhance the BCA's representation across Wikimedia. The BCA are our neighbours on Windrush Square - physically bringing GLAM services together in the London Borough of Lambeth. Please brings and resources you may have about the Black Cultural Archives.

What to bring

[edit]

You can bring your own laptop if you wish but we also will have library computers. Join the library ahead of your visit and pick up your library card at the desk.

Future meetups

[edit]

The next meetup after this will be at the end of September as the last Monday of August is a bank holiday so the library won't be open.

Promotion

[edit]

Can you help us promote the meetup? Download and share the poster above, pick up flyers from the library or please share this page on your social media or on your user page.
