Meeting Summary

  • Previous minutes were ratified by 4 members.
  • The new Wikimedia_ZA Chapter Administrator made a brief introduction.
  • An update on SWiP Phase 2 was provided, including an overview of upcoming workshops from July to October.
  • An update on Wikimania 2025 local scholarship awardees was provided.
  • A brief update was given on Wikimania 2025/WikiIndaba 2025. The first local scholarship awardee for WikiIndaba 2025 was announced (Sipho Fako).
  • Wikimedia meetups for June were confirmed for Saturday, the 21st of June 2025.
  • An update was provided on the Con Court demonstration.
  • A brief update regarding the Public Libraries Seminar & LIASA COP was provided. Questions outstanding for Board consideration is the level of sponsorship for the Public Libraries Seminar.
  • Update provided on the Africa Month Edit-a-thon which was run in May. An update on the impact of the last two Edit-a-thons was mentioned.
  • No operational items were raised.
  • TM requested an update regarding the project engagement and when feedback would be presented to the chapter members. Feedback was provided.
