WikiTutur 2.0 in Malang was a language documentation workshop event held in Malang, East Java, Indonesia, on 23rd November 2024. This workshop event was conducted as part of WikiTutur 2.0, through the collaboration between Wikimedia Jakarta Community, Brawijaya University WikiClub, and Delegation of Tengger Tribe, focusing on the Tenggerese language.

Activity summary

  • Workshop session began with a presentation from the trainer. This session includes an introduction to the Wikimedia movement, WikiTutur program, Wiktionary, and Lingua Libre as a language documentation tool. Brief tutorials on recording linguistic data with Lingua Libre and contributing to Indonesian Wiktionary were also presented.
  • Structured record-a-thon of Tenggerese data following verification and confirmation from the native speakers.
