About me
Hola! Hi! Coucou ! I'm Patricia, a communications professional and programme leader with experience working at the intersection of digital environments, access to information, culture, and social justice. I'm currently based in Santiago, Chile, but I love to travel. I'm very social and I like to connect with new people, especially to promote social impact projects.
My work
I have worked for Wikimedia Chile since 2018, when I started as the chapter's first staff member. I'm currently its Executive Director, where I lead community-driven and international programmes focused on media and information literacy, digital participation, open culture, and information integrity, working closely with civil society organisations, public institutions, educators, and global networks. My work centres on supporting people and organisations to engage critically and safely with digital technologies, strengthen freedom of expression, and contribute to public-interest knowledge through collaborative and values-based approaches.
As part of the Wikimedia movement I have:
- Being part of the Executive Directors group since 2020.
- Participated in the organisation of the WikiGlam Conference 2023 in Montevideo.
- Took part in the Content Partnerships Hub Helpdesk Experts Committee.
- Led the 1st WikiAdvocacy Meet-up 2024 in Santiago.
- Co-led the Scholarship committee for Wikimania Paris.
I'm also part of the Open Culture global network and I support the Open Heritage Statement.
