ToolX is a tool hosted on Wikimedia Toolforge that does... nothing so far.

On Friday, July 24th, at a live demo session at 16:00 in room Est at Wikimania 2026 in Paris, we are going to code this tool's functionality, as much as we can fit in 80 minutes of work.

We will decide what ToolX would do during the first minutes of the live session, but we are collecting ideas and proposals below.

What would be an ideal proposal? Something that does one thing well, rather than a complex tool with many different use cases. Something that can be done with an online tool on Toolforge (i.e. not requiring to run as part of Mediawiki, for example).

Ideas

1. A personalized greeter of promising new contributors.
2. A WikiProject quality assessment re-analysis workbench
3. A Toolforge tool-health assessor (tech rot, amount of unresolved issues...)
