Interslavic language English name error
[edit]The English name for Wp/isv would be Interslavic Wikipedia, as Interslavic is the English name of the language. However, there seems to be an error where the local name "medžuslovjansky" appears where "Interslavic" should be. This is also making the link provided by the table search for a "medžuslovjansky language" article in the English Wikipedia, which does not exist as the actual article would be "Interslavic language". The same error appears in other pages as well, such as the Incubator main page. Beni-Enma Alter (talk) 23:51, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- Indeed, that's clearly a mistake. Does anyone know how this can be fixed? IJzeren Jan (talk) 22:04, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
- After opening for example the article Poljska in ISV Wikipedia, I can go to upper right corner and switch to other languages. However, there is no option to switch to article in Interslavic/medžuslovjansky from the articles in other languages, like Poland in English Wikipedia, or Polska in Polish Wikipedia. Looks like there are missing Wikidata links.
- Congratulations on Interslavic Wikipedia! ~2026-37471-15 (talk) 06:49, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- More about Poland in English Wikipedia, Polska in (Polish Wikipedia), Poljska in Interslavic Wikipedia. There is no isv on this website in the section with the list of Wikipedias: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q36#sitelinks-wikipedia ~2026-37471-15 (talk) 09:52, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Don't worry, this is usually done by a bot within a few days after a new wiki has been created. At the moment, isvwiki still uses the {{INTERWIKI}} template from the Incubator, that's why you can switch to other languages but not vice versa. Isvwiki should be enabled on Wikidata soon. IJzeren Jan (talk) 10:35, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Just to let you know. Still it is not possible to switch to ISV Wiki from articles in other languages. ~2026-37471-15 (talk) 14:20, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- @IJzeren Jan @Polda18 Now it is possible to switch from the articles written in other languages to ISV articles. Nice!
- This future works only when Interslavic (EN) or medžuslovjansky (ISV) is entered in the field. Could you add the names for Interslavic in Slavic languages and other major non-Slavic languages, such as Dutch, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese? ~2026-37471-15 (talk) 08:36, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- What exactly do you mean? In what field should something be entered, and where should those translations be added? IJzeren Jan (talk) 11:05, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- There is a language-switching field in the top-right corner of each Wikipedia article page. For example, on the "Polska" page (on the Polish Wikipedia), to access the corresponding page on the Czech Wikipedia, you can enter Czech (in English), czeski (in Polish), Čeština (in Czech), češki (in Croatian, Slovene), чешки (in Bulgarian, Macedonia, Serbian), чэшскі (in Belarusian), чеськa, or other names of this language, and then confirm your selection by clicking/choosing the text Čeština appearing slightly below the entered text.
- Similar extended feature should be available for Interslavic. Currently, entering in the field Interslavic (in English) or medžuslovjansky (in Interslavic) triggers the text medžuslovjansky, but this should be available for more languages. I hope that I explained it clearly ~2026-37471-15 (talk) 13:34, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

- I can now confirm that the bug has been resolved now. The table now correctly displays Interslavic as the English name. Polda18 (talk • my contributions) 12:59, 13 July 2026 (UTC)
