- This is unrelated to video2commons so maybe you added this comment to the false wish? It's highly related to W317: A proper audio player but not video2commons. Prototyperspective (talk) 13:10, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
- I was thinking more generally about buckets of multimedia to prioritize such as video, audio, images, etc - but I do see now the mention about it being more severe for audio. We can revisit sooner as the audio player work is investigated and scoped. MikeZ-WMF (talk) 09:49, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

- Oh right, the title was just about video while this is for both. It may need separate implementations for video & audio. When it comes to audio it's useful for podcast-type audios, audio versions of Wikipedia articles, audiobooks, and more. Changed the title, thanks for noticing and asking. Wikiproject Medicine Community Tech Team selection

I'm on Wikiproject Medicine's Community Tech Team and I've selected this wish from our shortlist for implementation (T432729) as it looks like a straightforward easy win for the mobile web view's video player. I hope to have a patch working and deployed within a couple of weeks if nothing surprises me in the work. :) brooke (talk) 14:57, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
