Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat (at Meta-Wiki only)

Meta-Wiki has a small active community. When a normal user requires the assistance of an administrator or bureaucrat for some particular task, it is not always easy to find one. This page helps users find one when they need one; asking specific admins directly via their talk pages is one way to elicit a fast response. It is only for assistance required at Meta-Wiki, help for other wikis needs to be requested at those wikis.

• Before posting to this page, make sure your comment doesn't belong at one of these specific request pages:

Remove discussion/talk pages from forum articles

I don't think that forum articles (project/content pages), such as Help Forum, Tech, Meta:Babel, and even this noticeboard, should have a discussion (talk) page, as is the case with an article I can't remember now (please let me know if you need me to do so). I don’t see a problem by keeping those, even I'd say talk pages are always needed for these noticeboards. Cause the noticeboards can sometimes be semi-protected for excessive vandalism (see protection logs of this page). 🪶-TΛNBIRUZZΛMΛN (💬) 18:56, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

@Michael21107: This is correct. The talk page is frequently used for edit requests if the main forum page needs to be protected. EggRoll97 (talk) 15:52, 4 April 2026 (UTC)

I understand that, but looking at the three examples I linked, that doesn't seem to be the case. I would at the very least propose a ''official'' notice there, which would properly explain their use. You don't need a custom template, it's just a few pages. You could use {{Tmbox}} as a guide. None of this requires an administrator. — xaosflux ^Talk 18:15, 8 April 2026 (UTC)

Request for rate limit increase for Special:EmailUser

Similar to my request archived in Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat/Archives/2026-03#Help with Special:EmailUser, please grant my account User:Pine the permission to use Special:EmailUser at higher than the normal rate limit, through 12 April 00:01 AM UTC, so that I can email users who have registered to attend the upcoming Wikimedia Café session without being rate-limited. TAIV request

I often patrol Special:AbuseLog, which catches meta stuff as well as global issues, and TAIV would be helpful when multiple TAs are vandalising (e.g. this request was prompted by me wanting to check who shared an IP with ~2026-21758-18, before they got blocked).
