Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat (at Meta-Wiki only)

Meta-Wiki has a small active community. When a normal user requires the assistance of an administrator or bureaucrat for some particular task, it is not always easy to find one. This page helps users find one when they need one; asking specific admins directly via their talk pages is one way to elicit a fast response. It is only for assistance required at Meta-Wiki, help for other wikis needs to be requested at those wikis.

Promoting stewardVote to a gadget

User:Hoo man/stewardVote.js is loaded from MediaWiki:Common.js, so it technically is one already. Promoting it to a full-fledged gadget will help with load efficiency. Courtesy ping: @Hoo man.

The definition would look like this:

As it is now, the script is always loaded for all logged-in users anyway (though only at vote pages). Controlling when to enable a gadget is as easy as removing and adding default. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 03:56, 10 February 2026 (UTC)

I tend to agree with xaosflux here. It may help with efficiency, but the maintainer isn't an interface admin. That said, though, they are a steward, and I see no reason why they wouldn't succeed in an RFIA. EggRoll97 (talk) 05:47, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

Request for Patroller Permission

I'm a patroller and rollbacker on zhwiki. I have reverted some unconstructive edits and nominated several pages for speedy deletion via TwinkleGlobal in Meta-wiki. You are a trusted user in your homewiki. Since December 25th, you have performed 13 undos and you have also got 21 deleted edits here, some of which were created by you. My impression is that you deal more with translations, but only recently and occasionally with anti-vandalism. I would like to see at least a month of patrolling here and gaining more experience dealing with metawiki-specific vandalism. This seems to be exaggerated for such a low-stakes group as patrollers. The user does not seem untrusted and so can be granted the rights. --MF-W 19:11, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
