Steward requests (Global permissions)

This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Instructions for making a request

Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.

Global IP block exempt for 钉钉

The above-mentioned user requested for Global IPBE in zhwiki locally, but the request is turned down procedually (see link for discussion). The request is deferred by me as the applicant stated that he cannot edit Meta due to the IP blocks in effect.

The rationale of the request is as follows, as stated by the applicant: The applicant is currently residing in China and thus have to rely on proxy tools in order to access Wikimedia wikis. Since 23 April 2019, all language versions of Wikipedia are no longer accessible in China due to the censorship. Currently, the applicant is holding local IPBE on zhwiki. --無聊龍 (talk) 14:32, 26 April 2019 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for Bugtrio

As a user from Turkey, I have to use a VPN service in order to access Wikipedia and since most of the IPs from the VPNs are blocked, I cannot contribute anymore even when I want to. Please consider providing me with a GIPBE, thanks, --Bugtrio (talk) 14:50, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

I live in PRC for a long period of time every year. During this time I would not be able to edit or even access Wikipedia without using VPN as Wikipedia is blocked in PRC, thus I need a global IPBE in order to contribute in projects other than zhwp and lzhwp.
