Event:WMA Technical Introduction to CapX
Wiki Mentor Africa (WMA), in collaboration with the Capacity Exchange (CapX) team, invites you to a technical introduction session exploring the technology behind Capacity Exchange.
The Capacity Exchange (CapX) is a Wikimedia platform that enables Wikimedians to find and connect with one another to exchange knowledge, skills, mentorship, and services across the movement.
While CapX provides a platform for community collaboration, this session will focus on the technical side of the project. Exploring the tools, technologies, workflows, and processes that power CapX.
The session aims to introduce members of the WMA community and the wider Wikimedia technical community to CapX as an open source project, with the goal of encouraging new contributors to participate in its continued development and improvement.
Who Should Attend?

- Developers interested in contributing to Wikimedia software
- New and aspiring technical contributors
- Students exploring open source projects
- Technical writers and documentation contributors
- Designers and UX contributors
- Testers and quality assurance contributors
- Community members interested in learning how Wikimedia tools are built
No previous experience contributing to Wikimedia technical projects is required.
This session follows the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) and Friendly Space Policy.
