Global block for 45.115.36.35

Status:    In progress

Cross-wiki abuse (spam comments that have nothing to do with Wikipedias). Most likely same user as 73.11.229.19 global-contribs (old) • xwiki blocks • IP lookup • WHOIS • robtex • gblock • glist • abuselog • bullseye • IP info • lwcheckuser who was blocked globally earlier today. --80.220.226.181 20:20, 13 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Back with IP 119.40.106.134 global-contribs (old) • xwiki blocks • IP lookup • WHOIS • robtex • gblock • glist • abuselog • bullseye • IP info • lwcheckuser. --80.220.226.181 14:00, 16 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Global block for 212.253.112.0/24

Status:    In progress

This IP range has been blocked on may 2016 by Masti for 3 months [1] and has been used by Mart253 (globally locked) for cross-wiki abuse. Likely an open proxy, see for example this IP. From this range he has created a recently sockpuppets: Mart917 (locked) and Mart4552 (locked) for cross-wiki abuse about the channels of Television. --Ks-M9 Talk (es-wiki) 23:10, 4 September 2016 (UTC).Reply

I see little evidence of the whole range being used as open proxy. None of the IP's within the range is currently locally blocked on any project. Savhñ 09:09, 12 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Global block for SOCINCWORLD

Crosswiki spammer of a company (jeux star or similar) that is mainly using some little Wikipedias (in terms of active users and articles) for promo. At enwiki his contribs, all about this company (see the warnings on his talk) were all deleted. Same mass deletion and warnings on frwiki (see his talk), on eswiki, dewiki, here (see Jeux Star), jawiki, ptwiki. On minor Wikipedias the situation is different: on iuwiki he created iu:ᐘᑧᔸᓮᓯ and iu:ᑖᑗᑘᑙᑚᑛᑜᑝ (nonsense); on zuwiki we have zu:Jeux Star and zu:Zéoi (nonsense); on crwiki we have cr:ᐘᑧᔸᓮᓯ; on twwiki we have tw:Jeux Star. Apart that couple of nonsenses, all his contribs (deleted and not) are only spam about this company. Btw, he logged in on several minor Wikipedias without contribs... And I suppose he'll start soon. Apart the global lock, all his contribs on this little WP should be deleted. Is it also possible to blacklist (globally) the titles Jeux Star (see), Jeux star (see) and, just to be sure, JEUX STAR? Also the jeuxstar's website should be blacklisted (but I dunno where to request it). IMHO, adding to the blacklist this pages and the webiste, this massive spam should end immediatly, avoiding further sockpuppets that will have no tools to spam again. Regards. --Dэя-Бøяg 03:23, 20 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Global lock for User:Status2020

This is a pretty obvious sock of crosswiki sockmaster Rafa Figueiredo (talk • contribs • block • xwiki-contribs • xwiki-date (alt • mw) • CA • gblock • xwiki blocks • SC • lwcheckuser), who mostly targets en:Elisha Cuthbert, pt:Elisha Cuthbert, and uploads copyvio images to Commons (mostly of actress Elisha Cuthbert). There are lots of reports at en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rafa Figueiredo. Rafa's most common activity is to sprinkle copyvio images of Cuthbert throughout different language Wikipedias and use over-the-top promotional language to describe her. For example: [2] from a globally locked sock of Rafa and [3] from Status2020. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 04:07, 21 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Global unlock for Kpengboy

Status:    Done

I just discovered that my original account Kpengboy was globally locked 3 years ago. The given reason was "Spam-only account: spambot". I don't understand this. I am not a spammer; you can see from my user contributions that my edits have all been in good faith. In my view, the locking of my account is completely unwarranted and should be reversed.

I am writing this with a temporary account I have created in the meantime; however, I have always wished to return to using my original account Kpengboy, with its longevity and accumulated user contributions, and being incorrectly labeled as a spammer unfairly reflects negatively on me. Kkpengboy (talk) 12:01, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

A large number of accounts were locked at this time. It is probable that you were locked by accident because you were operating on the same IP address / range. After this amount of time it can't be proved what happened, however, the account is clearly not a spambot so I've unlocked it. QuiteUnusual (talk) 12:24, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Racist campaigning political meme, user request for name change came from en: to meta: at the Stewards requests. See [4]. Global lock seems a sensible precaution, especially for not en language wikis where the sensitivity would be missed. (NB I'm a bureaucrat on en:) --Dweller (talk) 15:59, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
