This page is for requesting CheckUser information on a wiki with no local CheckUsers (see also requesting checkuser access). Make sure to follow the following instructions, or your request may not be processed in a timely manner.

Before making a request:

  1. Make sure you have a good reason for the check. It will only be accepted to counter vandalism or disruption to Wikimedia wikis. Valid reasons include needing a block of the underlying IP or IP range, disruptive sockpuppetry, vote-stacking, and similar disruption where the technical evidence from running a check would prevent or reduce further disruption.
  2. Be specific in your reasons. Ambiguous or insufficient reasons will cause delays. Explain the disruption and why you believe the accounts are related, ideally using diff links or other evidence.
  3. Make sure there are no local checkusers.
  4. Please ensure that the check hasn't already been done:

How to make a request

How to make a request:

  • Place your request at the bottom of the section, using the template below (see also {{srcu}} help).
    === Username@xx.project ===
    {{CU request
     |status          = <!--don't change this line-->
     |language code   =
     |project shortcut=
     |user name1      =
     |user name2      =
     |user name3      =
    <!-- Add more if necessary -->
     |discussion      = [[Example]]<!-- local confirmation link / local policy link -->
     |reason          = Reasons here. ~~~~
    }}

    For example:

    === Example@en.wikipedia ===
    {{CU request
     |status          = <!--don't change this line-->
     |language code   = en
     |project shortcut= w
     |user name1      = Example
     |user name2      = Foo
     |user name3      = Bar
    <!-- Add more if necessary -->
     |discussion      = [[:w:en:Example]]<!-- local confirmation link / local policy link -->
     |reason          = Reasons here. ~~~~
    }}

  • Specify the wiki(s) you want to perform the check on.

Requests

Quintinense@commons and pt.wikipedia

  • The following, most mentioned, some not, are  Confirmed to be the same user: Deletista, Carnatiba, Keptauto, Sambalagoas, Sepmreavanteuimpério, Vembaixada, Loggosul, Carnaval9
  • Comparison between the abovementioned complex and the other five users mentioned, and to those five amongst themselves does not lead to anything conclusive. Most of the pairs would be Unlikely Unlikely based on back-and-forth jumping of ip addresses (might still be the same person on different devices of course). I'll go after the Commons CU later, if someone else would like to do that, be my guest though. This has already taken much more time than I was planning to spend :-( - Andre Engels (talk) 15:16, 3 March 2012 (UTC)reply
When this check is completed it would be important to specify the types of connections between each pair (of the 3 suspected meat/socks).
And to clarify, except 4 (Raimundo57br, DiegoAlvesBarbosa, Rcandre and Higor Douglas) all others are confirmed as being Quintinense (Higor Douglas being a confirmed meatpuppet). I listed the others because most data from the past socks is stale. Chico (talk) 03:44, 5 March 2012 (UTC)reply
I have made the appropriate request in commons. commons:Commons:Requests for checkuser#Quintinense. Chico (talk) 15:49, 6 March 2012 (UTC)reply
Commons has given a result to that check, only it seems they used the respective commons users. Could a steward contact the commons CU and exchange the needed information in order to complete the picture? Chico (talk) 21:15, 7 March 2012 (UTC)reply
Well, not much to say, is there? One of Quintinense's IP on commons was used by Palonvitas, which is blocked on ptwiki for abusing multiple accounts, and apparently is to be linked with Quintinense. Nothing else to report - the data associated with Rcandre is concordant on ptwiki and commonswiki. Elfix 18:27, 10 March 2012 (UTC)reply

Thank you!! Can you please check whether the following users are sockpuppets of KellyMok too? zh:user:Burstwings, zh:user:Alertkeep, zh:user:Suchclaim--Miroir (talk) 14:27, 11 March 2012 (UTC)reply
All three are  Confirmed. Trijnsteltalk 15:37, 11 March 2012 (UTC)reply
Thanks a lot! --Miroir (talk) 18:29, 11 March 2012 (UTC)reply

Cruks@pt.wikipedia

Could you explain, with diffs, where there is abuse of multiple accounts? Did they both participate in a discussion? Voted twice? Deceived the community in any way? None of them is currently blocked. Seeing your 4 diffs, it seems perfectly clear that they're the same: why do you need a CU? Thanks. Elfix 22:17, 10 March 2012 (UTC) I assume you're suspecting a block evasion, could you confirm that? Elfix 22:20, 10 March 2012 (UTC)reply
Yes, open a thread lock on the lock.Érico Júnior Wouters (talk) 22:29, 10 March 2012 (UTC)reply
Yes Elfix, block evasion and harrasing the same user... Chico (talk) 22:37, 10 March 2012 (UTC)reply
As the block log shows: Cruks was first blocked in oct 10th for 2 weeks. October 15th shatabisha is created, edits only a little. November 14 Cruks is blocked for 3 months - shatabisha starts editing heavily in December. Chico (talk) 22:48, 10 March 2012 (UTC)reply
