This page hosts requests for membership in an existing global group and for requesting Global (un)blocks, locks and hidings. Proposals for new groups should be made on Meta:Babel.

To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global bot, global blocking) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications and for requesting a global block, please indicate why a global block is necessary and for how long.

Any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion, though only stewards may use {{yes}} or {{no}} templates.

Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You know the IP address(es) you wish to have globally blocked or unblocked. For blocks, the global blocking criteria are met. For unblocks, your request addresses the original reason for blocking the IP, if any. When requesting that your IP be unblocked, note that stewards need to know your IP address to even consider a request. To find your IP, please visit http://www.whatismyip.com/ You are not required to disclose your IP in public - you may make requests privately to any steward on IRC or by email.

Belong to a dutch youngster that perpetuates in a very dangerous kind of vandalism, namely presenting real looking but often wrong information on historic articles on nl-wiki en-wiki de-wiki pl-wiki it-wiki fr-wiki, no-wiki and sv-wiki. It is gross scale falsification of data, adding real looking but wrong "facts"

nonsense for the most part removed and each time placed back by him - glatisant and mvdleeuw went to wiki-fr to remove it

Thank you - this is the worst kind of vandalism there is and efforts to deal with it on nl-wiki only lead to blocks getting longer and longer (currently six months), blocking of the sockpuppet but he simply when blocked continues with IP-addie and accounts on other wiki-versions. Massive crosswiki spamming of several domains. See User:COIBot/UserReports/121.97.74.130 & luxotools above (addition of several spam domains across many wikis or creation of spam pages across many projects too). This IP has been used only for spam for quite some time now so and hold several long time blocks on big wikis. Please global block it for some months. • Discussion: This account has been hijacked. At ro.wikipedia, this user's unified account's password has been made public and the password was changed by someone else (4 Jan 2010). The account was blocked indefinitely at ro.wp, and the user agreed to use another account. However, the former account has been used later (9 Jan 2010) as a sockpuppet(as shown by checkuser) in order to obtain adminship at ro.wikiquote, and possibly for distructive edits at other wikis. Most of the evidence is in Romanian, approximate translations are:
  • [1] "I found Redfox' access requisites: Username:Redfox Passowrd:digital-tower" - these credentials are not valid anymore, as they have been changed; message repeatedly written on the ro.wikipedia Village Pump, 4 Jan 2010.
  • [2] "We only wanted to scare redfox, today he came to work, looked at access logs and exposed us. (...) We never thought anyone would change his password. (...)"; message left on my talk page, 5 Jan 2010 - irrelevant parts are left out, they refer to the personal quarrel of the account's owner and those who exposed his credentials, I can translate that, too, if requested.
