Alex Smithson cleanup

I am working to improve WQ VfD and noticed many links from bad articles to your project page about Alex Smithson. @HouseOfChange Hello, I confirm I’ve read this message :) I’d need to go through my notes on this case, so I’ll get to you back with a more descriptive answer. Perhaps the best place to start is to check whether the subject even exist - afterall Alex is a known hoaxer - and then also check source existance&credibility. I try reverting his stuff as it comes so there should only be old stuff to look after. If you agree, I’d write you these tips on email in order for Alec to not change his modus operandi. I’ve been busy lately and didn’t really have time for cleanup on enwikiquote so I am happy to cooperate with you in the future. Best regards, A09 (talk) 17:33, 2 February 2025 (UTC)

Thank you! I am happy to get your email any time. I notice that a lot of the "quotes" are from books by a "local author" Giovanni Galli, who seems to churn out promotional literature for sites near Lake Como, including sea-monster promotion and the fictitious claim that the Holy Grail passed through there. Hardly RS, certainly not notable, and rarely if ever quotable. I wonder if there might be a connection there to the Alex Smithson efforts, however. HouseOfChange (talk) 17:40, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
