I upgraded almost a year ago and didn't think much of it until recently. I upgraded from MediaWiki 1.9 to 1.19. It either loads at a decent speed or takes forever to load. I have searched and searched, yet found no solution. It never used to be this slow until I upgraded it. If anyone could help me fix this it would be great and the wiki users would appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi!
So you say that the wiki is slow since one year, meaning: starting with the time of your upgrade? Or did it become slower during this year; meaning: way after the upgrade?
What software versions are you running? (See your Special:Version page.)
Where are you running the wiki? Local PC? Local network? Own server? Dedicated server? ... Does it have a public URL so that we could have a look?
Thank you for your reply, yes since the time of my upgrade. It happened right after the upgrade. I am running
Product Version
- MediaWiki 1.19.0
- PHP 5.2.9 (cgi-fcgi)
- MySQL 5.0.96-community
Looking at stats for your wiki, it looks like the edit count has increased in the past month. Maybe that traffic is hurting your server?
On an unrelated note I'd recommend to deploy the latest 1.19.x release, for your own safety.
I have the same problem, after upgrade a year ago, mediawiki is fast / slow / fast slow. Also upgrade this week a other wiki, and that one is now slow / fast / slow too.
If your paying for server why not try to change the server to a faster one which can handle more traffic
