Deletion Wikisupplier page

Hello everyone, I've got a question. How can I delete my page in Wikisupplier. Please help me! Zarik826 (talk) 23:12, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, if you are not admin, you cannot delete a page by yourself, even yours. You have to ask an admin to do it for you. For that, you certainly will have some {{Delete}} templates to put on your page. If you are admin, you will see a "Delete" tab on the top of your page (hidden on top right in the Vector skin). Click it, fill the justification fields, click on the "Delete page" button, and voilà. LIMAFOX76 (talk) 07:40, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hello LIMAFOX76,
- Thank you for your reply. I can't still find any contact of Wikisupplier because I can't delete this page. I'm not registered on this website and didn't create this page with my data. I tried to contact Wikimedia Foundation but they don't have any connection to Wikisupplier. The link is: http://supplier.wikiwhere.net/Contact_Zarina
- Thank you for your help. Zarik826 (talk) 12:35, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Zarik, I made a tour of the wiki and I found that there was no activity a all since a mass import on July/August 2012. One other thing is there is only one registered user: "Admin". It seems he used the Export/Import special pages and transfered all datas (including your page) from another wiki. The "Contact Zarina" page is one of them and not a user page (with the "User:" namespace). I also made a tour on the main domain page (vikiwhere.net), and I found the same kind of job made here. Unless you can reach the user "Admin" (who seems to be the same on both wikis), I can't help you more. May be this domain will disappear one day and so you page. I got something that told me to contact an administrator, I have a valid email address entered but the "email this user" won't work, how else can I contact an administrator? Could I find there email address, if so, how? Kyle 44 (talk) 03:20, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- On which wiki? Did you confirm e-mail address in Special:Preferences? wargo (talk) 14:13, 13 October 2013 (UTC)
- Has your IP address been autoblocked? Do you also see messages about being unable to edit? Jasper Deng (talk) 18:25, 13 October 2013 (UTC)
if protocol relativity mandatory or merely recommended
[edit]The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
A difference of views has become apparent in Wikipedia about whether URLs must be protocol-relative or it's only recommended that they be so. While I did read the Wikitech section as mandatory, I suppose one could argue that it's only mandatory if one wishes "to make HTTP and HTTPS coexist happily", which we normally do, in which case it could be considered to be recommended and not mandatory. And I may have found a case in which flexibility may be better. Is protocol relativity mandatory? Either way, the Wikitech section should be clarified, but I can't log in to do so or even to start a talk page there. Thank you. Nick Levinson (talk) 19:51, 12 December 2013 (UTC)
- @Nick Levinson I definitely concur with your argument and justification regarding making HTTPS, versus simply HTTP, a Mandatory Protocol, as a result of computer users' views on Security and Privacy in the Digital Age. Also, is my understanding that Google has made this a mandatory practice as of late, automatically redirecting safe websites to HTTPS, and informing users of the potential security risks by viewing a website which only uses HTTP. As we know, users and subscribers can be deleteriously harmed or potentially endangered, i.e. Viruses or Malware, by using an unsecured IP Protocol such as HTTP. Does the wikimetrics API (https://metrics.wmflabs.org/) have "Individual Reports" as an option? Thanks. Salubrious Toxin (talk) 13:54, 12 October 2014 (UTC)

The new mobile beta feature "Collections" appeared without explanation, and I had to ask in the Wikipedia Teahouse just to find out where to ask about it. Please document it in Mobile FrontEnd β. At the least, when a user clicks on it in the upper left menu, put a clearly labeled link to an explanation on the page that appears. Thnidu (talk) 02:24, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
mediawiki root access
[edit]Why would a user need root access to the server in order to set up or manage MW 2601:151:4501:BBF4:39FD:CA35:7DD:4208 (talk) 21:52, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
- User not, only system administrator for better managing (but without root access is still possible to use MW). See Does MediaWiki require shell access? wargo (talk) 07:23, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

embed content in own MediaWiki
[edit]I want to embed content from Wikipedia on my own MediaWiki.
What I have learned so far is that I can use something like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vienna?action=render#Etymology to get a plain (HTML) view of the content. But how can I embed this content in my own MediaWiki?
Can you please point me to the right place to ask or even an help article? C Wagner (talk) 10:01, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

Redesign of user hub
[edit]I tried to implent a redesign for this hub. Here's a draft version: User:RichardHeigl/Draft
Two problems: the language box is not displayed, and I'm not shure about the translation marker tags (I deleted them in the draft).
If somebody can help me with this, we could redesign this page an the developer and sysadmin hub. They are among the most visited pages and haven't changed for many years. :-) RichardHeigl (talk) 20:03, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
