Links bug
[edit]Hi there, there is a bug on 1.25 with links : they are difficult to remove. Is this bug is known ? Romain media (talk) 08:38, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- What links do you mean? Florianschmidtwelzow (talk) 08:40, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- links in the texte, when i try to remove links pointing on others pages of my wiki (don't know if i'm really clear... french with a bad english :D ) Romain media (talk) 08:42, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- No, not really clear, sorry :) If you remove the link from wikitext and save the page, it should be removed? Or do you get an error message? Can you post it here? Maybe you can give an example page in your wiki (if it is public)? Florianschmidtwelzow (talk) 13:38, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- yes my bad sorry... My wiki is not public sorry
- I got the same problem on the sandbox of Mediawiki...
- No error message but the problem is :
- - first I write a text
- - I create a link (for example on the word "Hello")
- - I save the page
- - I open the modification with VisualEditor (yes my problem is with VisualEditor. I should say that in the first message... sorry)
- - I try to remove the link and the word "Hello" is not red or blue anymore.
- But the problem is that I have to click on remove link twice ! And after that when the word "Hello" is not a link, I can save changes. Like if nothing had changed on the page...
- Hope it is a little bit more clear...
- Thanks for your help anyway ! Romain media (talk) 14:01, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks for reporting this :) I thought you mean wikitext, but i have tested it here on mediawiki.org with VE and you're right, you have to click twice to remove the link. I opened a task for it in our bug tracking software: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T93363 (you can login with your mediawiki.org login data and subscribe if you want).
- Sidenote: The question is better placed on VE talk page :) Florianschmidtwelzow (talk) 14:48, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- Ok sorry I put it there because with Mediawiki 1.24 I don't have this problem and now with 1.25 I have it (I use 1.25 because I need tables on VE)... So I don't really know where to talk about it...
- Thank you very much for your help ! :D Romain media (talk) 14:56, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- Like you see on the bug report, the problem is solved and was deployed today on mediawiki.org :) Thanks for reporting this! Florianschmidtwelzow (talk) 16:50, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
- yes I have seen this ! Thank you very much for your help ! I'm back to work and i will deploy the new version on my wiki. Thanks again ! Romain media (talk) 08:26, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Hit counters removed
[edit]Admins and users should be made aware that Requests for comment/Removing hit counters from MediaWiki core was implemented in 1.25. Special:PopularPages is removed and the Most Viewed Pages section of Special:Statistics is also gone. Peculiar Investor (talk) 17:44, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- Good point; I'll add this to the list of changes. Thanks! Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 18:12, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- Should a link be added to Extension:HitCounters? PhotographerTom (talk) 18:31, 2 June 2015 (UTC)
- Given it doesn't have any code so far, I'd suggest not yet. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 19:00, 2 June 2015 (UTC)
EditWarning
[edit]The EditWarning (Alert when leaving an edit page without saving) isn't working anymore in version 1.25.1. In the DefaultSettings.php its activated (useeditwarning). Does anybody have the same issue, have any idea why it isn't working anymore (1.24 works fine). Tickihgk (talk) 12:34, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
- Same here. Upgraded from 1.21 today, warning doesn't pop anymore. 188.101.114.29 (talk) 18:10, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Version page after 1.25.2 patch upgrade
[edit]Hello. After successfully applying patch 1.25.2 to a running 1.25.1 mediawiki site the version special page still shows version 1.25.1
Did someone forget to add the version num,ber change to the patch? 78.91.27.108 (talk) 11:48, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- No, $wgVersion was changed in the patch, too :) Have you enabled any object cache? Then it's possible, that you need to purge the cache ´, before you see the change on Special:Version, or your wait, until the cache expires :) Florianschmidtwelzow (talk) 13:56, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- Cache purging worked. 78.91.24.254 (talk) 09:44, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
"See the full release notes" where???
[edit]MediaWiki 1.25#Configuration changes
It says:
See the full release notes for details
Where??? I came to these page from Release notes following the link to 1.25, so I thought I **was** reading the full release notes.
Whenever you say "See xxxx" you should always include a link. 62.211.57.244 (talk) 14:31, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
- Apparently I can't even edit my own comment and fix my typo:
- > I came to these page
- should be
- > I came to this page. 62.211.57.244 (talk) 14:32, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
- Full release notes are kept in the git repository and also packaged in the tarball releases. For MediaWiki 1.25, the release notes are available at https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/plugins/gitiles/mediawiki/core/+/REL1_25/RELEASE-NOTES-1.25 BDavis (WMF) (talk) 22:52, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
