WikiChem would be a wiki for chemical substances (both organic and not) and reactions. On a substance site, users will be able find all the information about the substance's physical and chemical properties, chemical formulas, alternative names, reactions in which it is a substrate or a product and its applications, similar substances etc. On a reaction site, there'll be information about the reaction itself, similar reactions, safety precautions needed while carrying out the reaction etc.

I think Wikidata is a great place for this, because chemical compounds and substances that aren't "notable" by Wikipedia guidlines could potentially be included there. Audiodude (talk) 17:02, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

For me, as a chemist, interesting idea, however seems like it will be better to continue development of Wikipedia/Wikidata. Main problem of this project is that it will be a "project of one theme/direction" such as Wikispecies. Kylain Aixter (СО) 09:35, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
