The Board of the Fante Wikimedians Community is responsible for the strategic governance and oversight of the community. It normally consists of community members who provide guidance, leadership, and accountability for community activities and Wikimedia-related initiatives. Some members are elected by the community, while others may be co-opted based on experience, skills, or project needs. See below for the roles and responsibilities of board members. BiographiesSuyash DwivediSuyash Dwivedi is an Advisory Board Member of the Fante Wikimedians Community. He serves in an advisory capacity, supporting the community with strategic guidance, movement experience, and knowledge of Wikimedia governance and global community work. He is an experienced Wikimedia contributor with over 16 years of involvement across Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata, and multiple language Wikipedias. He has held several leadership roles within the Wikimedia movement, including Vice-Chair of the Affiliations Committee and Chair of the Commons Photographers User Group. Suyash brings extensive experience in Wikimedia community development, affiliate governance, outreach, and global event organisation. He has contributed to initiatives such as Wiki Loves Monuments, Wikimedia India activities, and international Wikimedia conferences. In his advisory role, he supports the Fante Wikimedians Community in strengthening its governance, partnerships, and alignment with global Wikimedia movement practices. Ruby Damenshie-BrownRuby Damenshie-Brown is an Advisory Board Member of the Fante Wikimedians Community. She provides guidance on gender inclusion, community development, program design, and Wikimedia movement engagement across Africa. She is a Ghanaian Wikimedian, open knowledge and gender advocate, and Co-Founder of Africa Wiki Women. Since 2019, she has contributed to multiple Wikimedia initiatives and has held several leadership roles, including WikiWomen User Group Representative, Communications Committee Member, and regional coordination roles within the Wiki for Human Rights and EduWiki initiatives. Ruby brings extensive experience in designing and leading gender-focused campaigns and Wikimedia outreach programs, including WikiWomen in Red, Arts + Feminism Ghana, and other initiatives promoting representation and inclusion in open knowledge spaces. In her advisory role, she supports the Fante Wikimedians Community in strengthening gender equity, community engagement, and programmatic impact. Tochi Precious FridayTochi Precious Friday is an Advisory Board Member of the Fante Wikimedians Community, serving in a multilingual program and community development capacity. She provides guidance on language-focused Wikimedia initiatives and cross-community collaboration. Tochi has been actively involved in Wikimedia projects that support language diversity and knowledge equity, particularly within the Igbo Wikimedia User Group. Her work includes contributions to initiatives such as Wiki Loves Women, Igbo Wiktionary campaigns, and the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Pictures project for the Igbo community. She also engages in research on community-curated digital heritage, with a focus on indigenous and minority language communities across Europe and Africa. In her advisory role, she supports the Fante Wikimedians Community in strengthening multilingual initiatives, language preservation efforts, and inclusive knowledge-building programs. Joris Darlington QuarshieJoris Darlington Quarshie is an Advisory Board Member of the Fante Wikimedians Community. He supports the community with strategic technical expertise and guidance, and experience in open knowledge and digital community development. He is a Ghanaian Data Scientist, Developer Advocate, and Co-Founder of Open Knowledge Ghana, a network member of the global Open Knowledge Foundation. Joris also serves as a Wikimedia Tech Community Builder and Outreach Facilitator for the Wikimedia Capacity Exchange (CapX) platform. Through his work in technology, open-source advocacy, and digital literacy, he has supported thousands of African professionals through training and community initiatives focused on knowledge access, technical skills, and localised digital content.
