    Summary

    Description

    Ballyhillin, County Donegal, Ireland

English: Raised beach of Ballyhillin at Malin Head, Inishowen, County Donegal. From the information panel at Malin Head: As the ice sheets melted 15,000 years ago, the land became lighter. Eventually it rose 100 feet above the former sea level – a process called isostatic rebound. This created the raised beaches at Ballyhillin. [..] Four levels of shoreline can be seen at Ballyhillin.
