Details of the proposal
Project descriptionA repository of documented, editable, downloadable, open source web apps in HTML5 under a creative commons or GNU license. The structure would be similar to wikibooks but instead of books, each top-level directory would contain an app. Each app would have a home page that would link to further pages, e.g. documentation, discussion about the app, a directory with the latest stable version, another directory with the current developer version etc. The scope would be limited to HTML5 web apps, which would allow readers to easily download a version of an app without bothering with compilers or other tools apart from a web browser. (WikiCode is a project proposal for other programming languages.) The project would benefit in multiple ways from being part of Wikimedia: many users would be familiar with the way this project is organized, there is already a revision history system in place, the apps could include images, audio, video, text sources, and/or data from other projects that are automatically updated, it might be possible to implement a form of documentation generation or literate programming by using wiki markup templates, etc.
Is it a multilingual wiki?many language versions
Potential number of languageseach version only one language but many language versions
Proposed taglineImagine a world in which every single device on the planet is given free access to all kinds of apps. Imagine a world where you can edit all your apps on all your devices. Imagine a world without differences between app users and app programmers. Imagine a world where every app you download is not only a tool but a source of inspiration and an invitation to participate in the app's development. And now imagine to create this world. There is a chance for that.
Technical requirements
New features to requireThe project would require the possibility to upload active JavaScript code.

WikiCode is another project proposal for any programming language; wikiapps is only for HTML5 apps in JavaScript. --Martin Kraus (talk) 01:38, 23 February 2014 (UTC)reply

wikiapps.wikidot.com: I started this a couple of years ago; but I never put much time into it; some ideas of it went into b:en:Canvas 2D Web Apps --Martin Kraus (talk) 07:58, 23 February 2014 (UTC)reply

b:en:Canvas 2D Web Apps is a wikibook about HTML5 web apps in JavaScript with the canvas element --Martin Kraus (talk) 01:38, 23 February 2014 (UTC)reply

literateprograms.org: A wiki for literate programming. Mmmh, I guess that's all I want. Why isn't that part of Wikimedia? --Martin Kraus (talk) 14:54, 23 February 2014 (UTC)reply
