Wikipedia offline in portuguese
Hi Jwild, I read the post at the Wikimedia blog about producing an offline version of the portuguese wikipedia. We have currently a review procedure similar to the one at the english Wikipedia at pt:WP:1.0 which might serve as the backbone for the selection procedure. We at Wikimedia Portugal were also partnering with the manufacturer of the laptop Magalhães to include an offline copy of Wikipedia in the newer release of the laptop. So, we would also be interested in pursuing a more formal way to select articles for offline versions. Please contact me at my talk page at ptwiki, if needed. I don't check meta very often. Scholarship review applications requested
Hi Jessie, just in case you're not aware, the Hong Kong team are requesting applications for the Scholarship Review Committee on the Wikimania mailing list - see the archives. As an applicant and observer, I don't have a strong opinion on who organizes appointments and how they are done, but I'm enquiring because the scholarship review discussion seemed to lean on the WMF continuing with appointments and having specific terms of two or three years - the current application request seems to imply terms will run for one year only and appointments will be done by the local team.
