Minipedia is a collection of small pages in simple English.
Minipedia pages are stub articles. They are meant as starting points for articles in Wikipedias, especially in new Wikipedias. The pages are written in simple English and short, to make them easy to translate.
A new Wikipedia will not be able to translate all the articles at once. This is why Minipedia has a system to show what the most important pages are. The users vote for pages they feel are important. This results in a list of pages that are most important for a Wikipedia to have.
Simple English Wikipedia may also have articles that can be translated.
