Project summary

Briefly summarize your project proposal.

  • This project aims to gather a number of 5 to 10 editors to contribute to the Rinconada Wiktionary in span of 3 months. Editing sessions will involve brief introduction on Wiktionary, nature of Wikimedia Incubator, using Catanalysis, short session on lexemes and editing on the the Wt/bto incubator through adding words, definitions, audio recordings from Lingua Libre.

Timeline of activities

Please state the timeline of your activities, and include the start and end date for your project

  • June 2026 - Orientation session and training for newbie editors. There will be editing session twice a week for the rest of the month.
  • July 2026 - Evaluation of the editing output. Organizers will check the number of edits per editor and see if there's a need for supplement to continue the sustainability of the project. Based on the participants' interest, schedules for editing sessions may be thrice per week.
  • August 2026 - Final month of the project. Editing activites data will be checked on the programs and events dashboard and Catanalysis. Interested participants who wanted to pursue the project development will be invited for further sessions on editing until the Rinconada wiktionary achieved its own domain.

Activities

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

There will be a series of edit-a-thons and trainings for the span of 3 months. A target of 2 editing session per week is planned.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

This plan was discussed among the members of the user group.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

The project will be posted on our website, social media channels, and participants from our previous edit-a-thons will be invited.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead/assist the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse and sign your proposal as proof of availability)

Mostly of these sessions will happen in our learning hub where we have laptop and internet connection. If participants are to join remotely, there will be laptop rental and data allowance.

7. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

There will be an exclusive communication channel on telegram of Facebook messenger to provide updates for the participants.

8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Impact

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets (only those applicable to your project):

  1. Number of events - 5 to 10 official activities, other editing sessions will not be mandatory
  2. Number of participants - 5 to 10 participants
  3. Number of new editors - 5 editors
  4. Number of of articles created - 100
  5. Number of of articles improved - 50
  6. Number of of images uploaded - 30
  7. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events) - 5

Resources

We have experience organizers and editors to assist this project. They will provide hands-on training to the participants.
