Start your request for a CentralNotice banner campaign here!
The aims of this process are as follows:
To improve community access to central notice through a clear and transparent process.
To improve best practice and ensure greater consistency in campaign implementation.
To improve communication around campaigns. Creating clear forums for feedback on campaigns, providing metrics back to campaigns and also a clear method for assessing community consensus for campaigns relating to advocacy.
To reduce potential clashes between campaigns
Requests must be made, at minimum, 14 days in advance of any campaign
Step #4 : Add it to the calendar and check for conflicting campaigns in your period for language/geotargeting. Contact the organizers of the other campaigns to solve them!
Step #5 : Notify target projects and geographic affiliates. Add edit diff links to request.
Step #6 : CN Admin & Community feedback [14 days], potential rejection of the request
Advocacy/Payments: WMF Legal Review [21 days])
Step #7 : CN Admin sets up campaign (recommended to allow for up 3 days)
Step #8 : Final approval of the campaign and banner settings by volunteer CN Admin and requester
Step #9 : Campaign enabled by CN Admin
List of currently active volunteer CentralNotice administrators:
For normal requests, a central notice admin will close the discussion. In the areas of advocacy, the stewards team may be called upon to assess consensus.

@Jetam2: I know that this is not the first campaign of this kind, as I handled last year's campaign, too. However, two things are uncommon for me: the very long duration of the campaign (that was even increased by a month this year), and that you are also targeting logged-in users—which is usually not done in fundraising campaigns because we usally don't want to ask our volunteers for two kinds of participation (but I know that the tax deducation model is slightly different). Is it fine as is? Best, —DerHexer(Talk)10:55, 21 November 2025 (UTC)reply
@DerHexer: I think it would be good to have it longer since people take time to do their taxes. I would just display it less often. If only shorter is possible, then start at 01-JAN and finish 31-MAR.--Jetam2 (talk) 12:32, 23 November 2025 (UTC)reply

Description - The Communications and Product teams at the Wikimedia Foundation are looking to do a small central notice banner test to drive downloads of the Wikipedia app on English Wikipedia, fr two countries. It will include simple banners in English and will look to target both logged in and logged out users on mobile, in support of our Foundation's APP goals to further engage Wikipedia readers and editors. The timing will be from December 15 to December 21. We will be sending people directly to Google Play and Apple App stores so that they can download the app directly onto their phone. Central notice admins are okay with us sending people to the Google and Apple stores, and the campaign will socialized with the English community.
Metrics - We will be measuring internally how many people are clicking on the banner, and how many downloads of the app we receive.
What banner(s) will you use? What will be your landing page?
Banners - They will be set up as an A/B/C test for each OS, and each country. For each country, each banner is shown to 33% os users.
Side note: I created one campaign per OS for each country, based on the previous Japanese campaign. I spent some time reading the documentation, trying to figure out if one single campaign would have worked with all the different banners (banner bucketing versus OS). When my research time got closer to the time needed to create a campaign, I decided to create a separated campaign. Do you think one unique campaign would work?

@OlenaVinsent (WMUA), here is a preview of your banner. Please let us know if anything should change. Normally, 6 weeks is too long of a runtime for a banner, but since you are only requesting the banner to be shown on Ukrainian Wikiquote I don't see a problem here. Hi @Strainu: Thanks for the request! Just a couple of quick notes: there’s currently a Wiki Science Competition banner running in Romania, but it only targets enwiki. I don’t think your request conflicts with that, but for future campaigns it would be great to coordinate with the organizers beforehand so there aren’t overlapping banners for the same country. Also, I can’t use the banner image you uploaded directly, since CentralNotice banners must be built in HTML/CSS to ensure responsiveness and accessibility (see the guidelines here).
You have two options:
Provide the banner in HTML/CSS format, or
I can create it using the standard banner template, which allows for a simple design (like this for WSC).
Thanks for heads up, it was a last-minute idea to use CentralNotice. You can use the same banner as for the other request, it's all good. Strainu (talk) 14:18, 19 November 2025 (UTC)reply
Hi @Strainu: here’s the campaign and the banner (preview). Please review the text, I don’t speak Romanian :) If everything looks good, please ping me so I can enable the campaign. Also, just a quick reminder that banners should be requested at least 14 days in advance and usually run for no longer than two weeks. Since this is a long-established campaign, I’ve set it to run from November 25 to December 15. Best,--Soylacarli (talk) 20:24, 20 November 2025 (UTC)reply
@Soylacarli let's use the following text (a bit shorter, the banner is too high on mobile): Participă la Concursul Wiki Science România 15 noiembrie – 15 decembrie (also corrected the end date). The rest looks good. Thanks again! Strainu (talk) 20:36, 20 November 2025 (UTC)reply

Description - Hi! As part of the Wikimedia Foundation’s annual plan, several teams are involved in an experiment (WE 2.1.5) aimed at surfacing content gap contribution opportunities to engage native speakers in small wikis. This experiment is connected to the Language Onboarding and Development initiative and aligns with the Vital Knowledge objective in the annual plan. See T405298.
This builds on a previous experiment from the last quarter, where we used Growth features. Results from that experiment are now published here: Research: Engage native speakers to improve vital content in small language Wikipedias. The results show positive signs, so we are now planning to explore further with a more focused and longer experiment involving two smaller wiki communities. This experiment will make use of the Content Translation tool, and we plan to run the banner for one month.
Metrics - Measured three months after the experiment concludes:
Average monthly pageviews on content pages of small wikis
Average monthly number of active editors
Total edits by users from the experiment to vital articles via Section/Content translation tool

@DerHexer I have the banner here Special:CentralNoticeBanners/Edit/WMF VKD IN. So far, we have heard from the Telugu community, and we are getting ready to deploy on their wiki in the region where Telugu is spoken in India. I am yet to create a campaign for that. Would you like to review that too before launch? I can set it up quickly in the next couple of days. SSethi (WMF) (talk) 18:51, 27 November 2025 (UTC)reply
I wanted to update that the requirements for the CN banner launch are still pending as of today. Since we have now entered December, which is generally a quieter month for launching new projects and campaigns, we are considering postponing the banner launch until January. Just giving a heads-up here. SSethi (WMF) (talk) 00:16, 3 December 2025 (UTC)reply
@DerHexer Thanks for the ping! As of today, this is in the plan, but it may take a bit more planning since we’ll be starting from scratch and are considering involving one or two additional communities in the experiment. Once I have an updated timeline, I’ll share it here. SSethi (WMF) (talk) 21:39, 5 January 2026 (UTC)reply
Hello @DerHexer! We’ve decided not to use a CN banner for this experiment in this quarter, and instead try out a few alternate approaches. A note for documentation: some questions are a little different from our usual recommendations; this is because the survey is a part of a larger study by the University researchers, and they need to keep them the same as other surveys for comparability purposes. All questions, including demographic questions, are optional and include both the ability to respond "Prefer not to say" or not select anything at all if the respondent chooses.

According to the CentralNotice/Usage guidelines, campaigns should run for a maximum of two weeks, so I have adjusted the end date to 15 December 2025. Please let me know if the current schedule (1–15 December) works for you.
@Darafsh Thanks for creating the campaign and banner. However, I had already created both yesterday; I just didn’t mention it here because the banner needed a small adjustment.
Regarding the schedule, Wiki Loves/contest banners typically run for the full contest period—at most one month—based on community consensus. All previous Bangla WikiConnect banners have also followed this one-month duration.
I wasn’t aware that you had already created the campaign and banner, my apologies for the duplication. Regarding the schedule, I’m fully fine with keeping the original one-month period.
Haha, it's nice to see the first edit conflict of CentralNotice admins! ;D It's great to see more activity in this area here thanks to you and others. :) — I would not say that each Wiki Loves campaign should be allowed to run for a month, but this one is established and could get an exception. Description - Wiki Science Competition has taken place once every two years since 2015 and within the same timeframe.
Metrics - The main target group is people studying and/or working in higher education institutions. We are especially interested in people who have never uploaded files, but could add quality content. The banner is intended to be minimalist, and the main metric is the number of files uploaded per country.
What banner(s) will you use? What will be your landing page?
There are two sets of countries. Actively participating countries, which request a more intense campaign, and the rest of the world category. Almost all countries run the competition from November 1st to December 15th and would need banner impressions, especially in the start and end sections of the competition. The international upload form will function until the end of the year. It is not a problem if there are some other banners, as two months should be a sufficient time period for the rest of the countries to have at least some banner impressions during this time.
Countries that need special attention are Argentina, Ireland, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nigeria, South Africa, the USA, and Uzbekistan, as they have more limited possibilities of using other banners. Actively participating countries also include Albania, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Italy, and Poland. Chile has already collected images, Bangladesh is doing it now, and India has a separate campaign request just like Australia and New Zealand. We would make separate requests for Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Malaysia, Mongolia, and Ukraine, as they start later.

Type of grant - International prizes are provided by a joint agreement of WMEE and WMCH, national competitions are managed by local commitees

Discussion
Countries starting on November 1st, that do not have a separate CentralNotice request, are: Albania, Argentina, Greece, Ireland, Kosovo, Nigeria, South Africa, USA, and Uzbekistan. Countries mostly solving it via Sitenotice are Estonia and Finland, but they do not mind some banners on lower rate (as people from those countries also use other language versions and may not notice the Sitenotice banner in local wiki).
Countries that would be separate from this main request;
Some details are still changing as the competition official start is approaching and countries update their information. So for now the main goal is to inform that this thing is coming. By the time when someone would be starting to set up the campaign, we would have all the details. We would also create a few more requests for countries that would use different start and end times. And if needed, could create even more requests.
The campaign could run on normal priority with the period around the competition start and competition end on medium-high priority. We do not mind if there are some other campaigns running in that time period as well (there is always something). What is important is that this has good visibility at the start and at the end week and something in between. Especially in countries that have their own local competition.
It would be good to have a little bit of banner impressions on some other countries as well, as a) we are collecting images from all countries and b) as science is international, then it is not rare that a person originating from country x studies at country y and does research in country z. That would help to get a lot more participants if there were some banner impressions in countries where we have not managed to find a local organizer. Not to mention, there are some countries that have actively participated in the past, but are skipping this year for some reason (like Austria, Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Indonesia, North Macedonia, Portugal, Thailand), where there might be interested participants. And there are some other bigger countries (like Canada, Germany, Mexico, the UK) where a lot of files could be submitted just with the help of the banner alone. @Kruusamägi: Please fill out this table in exactly this format so that we can handle your request by copying most of the stuff for each campaign separately. The way you have provided it last year (and this year again), has been an inacceptable overload of work on the CentralNotice admins. —DerHexer(Talk)18:25, 4 November 2025 (UTC)reply
@DerHexer:Thanks for the ping! I was handling the AU & NZ campaign request just now, so I didn't see your note until after I had already created the banner and campaign. I’ve added it to the table below so everything for the Wiki Science Competition is centralized.--Soylacarli (talk) 20:01, 4 November 2025 (UTC)reply
@DerHexer: There have been two and a half weeks to comment on this, but no-one has not even bothered (and there are many other open requests that seem rather abandoned). And you could not reasonably expect me to know how you specifically (or anyone else) want it here, especially as this has not been specified in clear manner in any previous years. So please, don't act surpised if you do not like the result. And there is a separate page that has all this info, but well, I will then copy it here as well.
I split the table to two to make it clearer which countries go together, making it easier to avoid mistakes. I did not add the countries that cover it by local banner. I start with the countries that have already started collecting images and add later countries that start on November 15th (as there is more time with them anyway). Kruusamägi (talk) 11:15, 5 November 2025 (UTC)reply
Well, as you know, we are all volunteers here. :) I took a break for exactly these 2.5 weeks. And I can fully understand why other CN admins either didn't want to or were not fully skilled to work on such a complex request. The shortage on CN admins is well known and has been tackled by WMF and volunteer CNAs with trainings in the past year. We see some progress, but the number of requests is increasing, some of them very complex. Furthermore, a few procedures have changed since the new usage guidelines. — In any case, thank you for helping out with structuring the request so that it will maybe only take us 2 instead of 5 hours to create all the different campaigns and banners (different dates, links or other targets require us to create separate campaigns; and we cannot copy campaigns which is well known but hasn't been tackled by WMF developers). Best, —DerHexer(Talk)19:21, 5 November 2025 (UTC)reply
And yet, at the same time, those big requests are even more important to deal with, as they affect many countries and a lot more people :P
All the big international campaigns are a bit of a mess. If there are 20+ countries participating (we have 24 countries + "international" cat for the rest of the world), then that means a lot of differences + information keeps changing. Even now there is one update: Bangladesh extended image collecting until November 12th (so this might still need attention). But it is highly likely that there would be many more similar updates.
I have never really understood why WMF doesn't just put staff on this, as this is a highly technical and time-sensitive task. And it does come as a surprise to me that the technical tools for that are so lacking -- like no copying, for real, there should be a massive number of recurring campaigns (as I can't access the stuff you have, so I don't know how that works and what exactly do you need or what options there are).
When this thing has been dealt with, then I will add some more countries that start later. But now the campaign is running in multiple countries, and they need a banner first. Kruusamägi (talk) 21:10, 6 November 2025 (UTC)reply
@Kruusamägi: Welcome to my world. ;) I'm telling these things to WMF for the past 10+ years. We've got some more support last and this year, but that stopped. We can only try the best we can do. — That means that I have created all the campaigns asked for in the tables (we cannot connect a country and a landing page for technical reasons; each one requires a new campaign that we cannot clone :) ). Please check each of them thorougly, approve them in the column and ping me when you have completed some or all so that I can enable these. Best, —DerHexer(Talk)16:15, 7 November 2025 (UTC)reply
Unfortunately I have not managed to review any banners as it seems to hint I do not have the permission. Or is there anything specific I should do?
@Kruusamägi: Thanks for the checks and approvals! I have enabled all campaigns from the table. Please ping me when you add more campaigns there that you want us to create. (I will be on the road from Thursday to Tuesday, but will try to help out when I have a bit of time.) Best, —DerHexer(Talk)16:13, 11 November 2025 (UTC)reply
The request as it's summarized in the table below has been fully handled, we just wait for some approvals before we can enable one or the other campaign. Future help with additional requests on this page is appreciated, of course. Best, —DerHexer(Talk)10:55, 10 November 2025 (UTC)reply
@DerHexer: I added table 3 for countries that start later. In the last set there are 3 waves of start times. Currently, the countries listed have the campaign already underway. Then, more countries will join, and on December 1st, the last countries will start. Some countries were also changing their start dates, and there were some issues with upload forms. That is why we wanted to start with the banner campaign a bit later. Kruusamägi (talk) 00:32, 19 November 2025 (UTC)reply
@Kruusamägi: Okay. I have created the three campaigns in the third table, please check and approve them. The fourth campaign will likely be handled by my colleague. — Just ping me for the remaining campaigns when they are ready. I should be available until mid-December on a daily base from now. Currently the WMF fundraising banner campaign is also running and we are experiencing some problems with our data collection on the banners (Phab task). In order to figure out what is going on we will need to take the banners for the Wiki Science competition out for logged out users. I hope this is ok and apologies for this. I will be in touch once we know for how long (hopefully not long) they will be down. Thank you so much for your understanding. Best JBrungs (WMF) (talk) 15:09, 2 December 2025 (UTC)reply
@DerHexer: all good to go. Also, a Finnish competition might need a small boost. Something similar to the Estonian banner (i.e people would see banner if they are from Finland, but visiting English Wikipedia). So I added this as well. Kruusamägi (talk) 22:52, 2 December 2025 (UTC)reply
@DerHexer: there is now also one for the United Kingdom (they will start on December 10th). And there is competition ongoing in Kazakhstan, but they have not yet provided any information about banner. And some countries might ask for deadline extensions. Kruusamägi (talk) 23:12, 8 December 2025 (UTC)reply
Hi all,
Can you hold on the UK one until we have figured out what is going on with our data (with regards to fundraising). It is fine to enable it for logged in users but not for logged out users at this stage. I will let you know once we know more. Thank you so much! Best, JBrungs (WMF) (talk) 05:57, 9 December 2025 (UTC)reply
Sigh, I am pretty sure that it was enabled. Maybe it changed when I extended the duration. But due to the bug, we cannot see in the logs what was changed. I have enabled it (again). Thanks for the ping! —DerHexer(Talk)11:48, 29 December 2025 (UTC)reply

And I also noticed several CN campaign where end times were of when I did CN-administrative work this weekend... strange!

Hi,
I have a brief question about the request. Is this targeting logged in or logged out users? As of the start of December we will run the annual fundraising banner campaign on English Wikipedia in both Australia and New Zealand for logged out users. If your campaign is also targeting logged out users, they will be seeing around 10 fundraising banners before they will see the science competition banners for the last two weeks of your campaign. Best, JBrungs (WMF) (talk) 07:02, 27 October 2025 (UTC)reply
I apologise for the confusion. When I submitted the request, I set the banner to be active for a two-week period to avoid the December fundraising campaigns. However, I can no longer see these dates displayed in the request.
Hi @AlphaLemur: can you please clarify this questions? I don't know why they are not showing in the settings.
What is the campaign duration?

We are aware that this banner conflicts with Czechoslovakia 2025 Competition. Wikipedia Asian Month banner should be less prominent (impression diet) during the conflicting period. Given the fact that according to current policy banners should last for 14 days only, the duration is requested for the second half of the month, therefore the request is also given in the requested minimal time advance. Hi @Aktron! Thanks for the request and for noting the overlap with other campaigns. Since you are fine with using an impression diet during the conflicting period, we can accommodate that.
I also noticed that the banner proposal is currently written in wikitext. CentralNotice banners need to be built in HTML/CSS, as they must remain responsive and accessible across devices (especially mobile).
You have two options:
Provide the banner in HTML/CSS format, or
If you prefer, I can convert it into an HTML/CSS CentralNotice banner using the standard template (with the two images you included).
Hi, we found yesterday, that there is a global banner for Asian month 2025 also for the Czech Wikipedia, hovever there was a mistake in the year, so the banner was switched off due that mistake. After later discussion we have decided that banner for the Wikipedia Asian months running for the entire month of November (according to the global campaign and lasting of Asian Month 2025 on Czech Wiki). It will be very helpful also for the support of the whole global activity. Czech editors were one of the most active community in Asian months in recent years, but we have feedback, that some of them didn´t know about it, so banner is very supportive for the enlaregment of the number of the articles about Asia on Czech Wikipedia. Thank you for understanding. We have already talked with Martin Urbanec about it. KKDAII (talk) 09:34, 9 November 2025 (UTC)reply

Hi! This is my only my second proposal for a banner, so, please, feel free to tell me how to improve it in any way :`p
In Spanish Wikipedia, I have been organizing the local edition of the Asian Month for the past 3 years. The contest had been loosing and loosing in popularity for years, but last year, we were able to get a lot of new contributors, probably in part thanks to the banner!
I think getting a banner again could greatly improve discovery of this event, which offers a soft, cute landing for new users, and an interesting objective for more experienced users.
Thanks for your time!
EDIT: I forgot to put the request on the queue and calendar :+ so I modified a little bit the date. Sorry for the problems!
Hi @Marion Moseby, I'm writing in English so that @DerHexer can follow as well. We have a bit of a conflict with this request, the global organizers of Wikipedia Asian Month already requested a banner, and eswiki was included in that global campaign. That’s the banner you’re currently seeing, and the text was the one submitted by the global organizers. For future cases, it would be great if organizers could coordinate earlier to avoid overlapping requests. If I enabled this campaign it would be two banners of the same campaign in the same dates. Please note that the global campaign on eswiki will run until December 31. Maybe @DerHexer can suggest another solution? Best, Soylacarli (talk) 14:19, 10 November 2025 (UTC)reply
Hi all! Thanks for the heads-up @Soylacarli; while I realized there was a banner for the English edition on the Asian Month on the CentralNotice/Request page, I didn't click on it to see it was multi-lingual 😅
I thus see two options:
Either we keep that campaign, and update the banner text to remove mentions to postcards, or
if their organizer @Betty2407 is OK, we can remove es:wiki from there and keep the banner I proposed here for es:wiki only
I favour the second approach, since it would also tailor the running time a bit more to the timing on es:wiki, where I expect little activity after the end of november, leaving more space for other campaigns. Both are fine for me in any case, and sorry for the miscommunication; I am just a small editor, so I didn't even think of checking that other campaign first 🤓
Dear @Marion Mosebyand @Soylacarli, Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Due to requests from some organizers to have the CN application submitted by the global team, I have applied for all the languages that have registered.
I would like to know if this issue can now be resolved directly through this link, using the existing banner and translate the text into the content you wish to use.
If this approach doesn’t work, I’d like to find a simpler method that doesn’t cause too much trouble for the CN administrators. Could we ask the @Soylacarli for suggestions? Thanks for all CN administrators' help... Betty2407 (talk) 01:39, 11 November 2025 (UTC)reply
@Marion Moseby, Soylacarli, and Betty2407: I have removed es from the global campaign. Sorry that I didn't check if subcampaigns had been proposed that could overlap with the global campaign. Per my experiences, local campaigns are usually more effective than adjustments to a global campaign. That's why I recommend (also per Marion's wish) that this campaign will be created for the eswiki community. I'm happy to help, but I think that Soylacarli was already on it. :) Best, —DerHexer(Talk)16:28, 11 November 2025 (UTC)reply
Hola @Soylacarli! La campaña me deja verla, y los parámetros parecen correctos. Sin embargo, no me deja ver el banner (puede ser q sea solo para admins?), aunque me fio de tí jeje

Hi there, not sure the best way/place to mention this but I think there might be a typo in the banner - "Contribute in Wikipedia Asian Month and get postcard!" seems to be missing an "a" between "get" and "postcard". Sorry if this should have been posted somewhere else!
Hi,
I have a question about this campaign. I see that you are targeting logged in and logged our users. In your list of participating countries you list English Wikipedia. Can you specify which countries you are targeting there? We run the annual English Wikipedia banner fundraising campaign throughout December in Australia, Canada (also on French Wikipedia there), Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the US (also on Spanish Wikipedia there) and non logged in readers will be seeing about 10 fundraising banners before they will see your banners. Best, JBrungs (WMF) (talk) 07:06, 27 October 2025 (UTC)reply
Dear @JBrungs (WMF), Thank you. This campaign is aimed at all contributors to the English Wikipedia, so it's not targeted at any specific country. If the banner appears after the fundraising banners, that's fine. Your kind reminder is appreciated. Betty2407 (talk) 00:13, 28 October 2025 (UTC)reply
Dear @User:DerHexer, As the WAM campaign is approaching, could you please let me know if any CN administrator will handle this request? Additionally, if there is anything I can improve in my application, please feel free to share your feedback, as this is my first time applying for it. Thank you for your understanding. @DerHexer: sorry for bothering - could you please reconfigure the Ukrainian banner? On Ukrainian Wikipedia we'll have the Asia Month from November 25th to December 25th, so this one is too early. And also we'll need the text changed (currently it's "Цей листопад — Місяць Азії у Вікіпедії <br/> Беріть участь у конкурсі й отримуйте листівки з Азії."; should be "Триває Місяць Азії у Вікіпедії <br/> Беріть участь у конкурсі й отримуйте книги про Азію.") Thanks! --AntonProtsiuk (WMUA) (talk) 11:26, 8 November 2025 (UTC)reply
@AntonProtsiuk (WMUA): How should I have known this? ;) On Wikipedia Asian Month 2025/Join an Event there is no information on different dates for the Wikipedia Asian Month. Anyway, I have removed uk.wikipedia.org from the global campaign and changed the text. So either ping me around 25 November so that I can re-add it or ask for a separate campaign. Because in this global campaign, the dates are fixed and cannot be changed for individual languages/projects. Best, —DerHexer(Talk)11:32, 8 November 2025 (UTC)reply
Dear @AntonProtsiuk (WMUA) Apologies, I applied for the banner period from November 1 to December 31 for all languages, in order to align with the global framework. I believe you can adjust the content here.
@DerHexer: Sorry to bother you again. Would it be possible to add one more language: Gorontalo (gor)? I noticed that the organizers there have not added their page here, so it was missed from being displayed on CN. Thanks again. ···🌸Rachmat04·☕️13:32, 8 November 2025 (UTC)reply

@Betty2407: It's no fun to select 54 languages to the campaign and add 54 links to the banners (5 displays per month). ;D But I made it! Dear @DerHexer thank you very much for it, it was a huge work! And thank you @Betty2407 for this idea with global campaign banner.
However on Czech Wikipedia we use exact days in banner and we found yesterday there was the year 2020 - it was during our annual Wikiconference and there was not too much space think about it - only about the mistake, so the banner for the Czech Wikipedia was switched off yesterday, but we enlarged our own request for the Asian Month 2025 according the global campaign and duration of the Asian Month on Czech Wikipedia. Hope, it will be confirmed and put on as soon as possible. KKDAII (talk) 10:21, 9 November 2025 (UTC)reply
Hi @Betty2407, just a quick note so we can avoid this situation next year. This year, we had your global request for the campaign, but there were also separate local requests for cswiki and eswiki, both of which were already covered in your banner targeting those languages. It would be great to coordinate this in advance next time, so that local communities requesting their own banners don’t overlap with the global one. Thank you!--Soylacarli (talk) 14:26, 10 November 2025 (UTC)reply
Yep, can we have on cs.wiki the banner merged to the global one (just like the Spanish one) - except with the errorneous translation that was mentioning the "2020" year? Thanks. Aktron (talk) 21:26, 13 November 2025 (UTC)reply
@Aktron: There is no Czech translation for the current global banner (link). Maybe an old translation from the cloning of the banner is loading right now. @Dev Jadiya: A few remarks before we can create the campaign:
A banner campaign running for 1.5 months is very uncommons. Please check out the usage guidelines that recommend campaigns not running for more than two weeks. Any campaign running longer definitely has to be announced in the targeted projects, here probably c:Commons:Village pump should be the right place. This is especially important for campaigns reaching millions of readers. — Please consider reducing the campaign duration, especially for non-registered users. Maybe two windows make sense: A week for the start of the competition and another week before it concludes.
Does it make sense to only target the Commons community? Wouldn't you reach a wider audience on Wikipedia, for example? (Of course, this needs further announcements.)
When you target more than one language, you have to have the banner and landing page available in all targeted languages. In this request, only an English banner text was mentioned. Please add the other languages here. — For the landing page which is only available in English as of now, please get it marked for translation and provide the texts at least in the major languages with support of the local translation admins and through the translators' noticeboard.
Dear @DerHexer, Thanks for your detailed feedback.
We can move with two weeks windows as it will be align with guidelines and a week for start and another before it concludes will suit well.
Yes our plan is to share with as many audience and it would be great it you could extend it to wikipedia also.
I have put the landing page translation request in translation community check. Meanwhile, I will also provide some of the banner translation in this page.
Also a new village pump discussion has been added Link.
I believe these updates address all the points you raised. Please let me know if any further clarifications or modifications are needed.

@Ada Jakubowska (WMPL): I have created the campaign and banner (preview). Please note that new campaigns running longer than two weeks have to be announced to the local community and don't have to get objected. I assume that it should be no problem to do that, otherwise you can shorten the campaign duration for the first and last week, for example. Up to you. Other than that it looks good to me. Please check everything, approve it and ping me so that I can enable the campaign as soon as you have clarified the duration. Best, —DerHexer(Talk)19:21, 15 October 2025 (UTC)reply
@DerHexerthe banner looks fine. After consideration, we have decided that your proposed campaign dates in the first and last week of November will be totally enough. Thank you for the idea! I have already changed the dates in the application and in the calendar. Ada Jakubowska (WMPL) (talk) 08:27, 16 October 2025 (UTC)reply
I have changed the date according to the first timespan and enabled the campaign. However, we cannot set two such timespans so that I either have to keep it in mind or you ping me before the second one so that I can change the dates again. I am sure that we will make it. ;) Best, —DerHexer(Talk)08:52, 16 October 2025 (UTC)reply

@Afeq I have recreated your image the best I can. A few remarks with the banner preview:
Per usage guidelines, I can't include bit.ly links in the banner, since it's a third party service. It feels a bit redundant to have in the banner anyway imho, when one click also leads them to the correct plage, don't you think? Also as a suggestion, more in general since I know you'll also be designing handout materials: you could consider to use Wikimedia's own url shortner w.wiki instead, to keep things in our own domains.
I have yet to learn how to create a second text box as the one you have on the right. If we remove the link, per the previous comment, it's only the "Join now!" that is left: is this also covered by "give her a voice", or maybe we can combine them "Give her a voice - join now!"
Perfect @Afek91: I have created banner in 6 languages to go live tomorrow, 0.00 UTC. As last year, the languages listed on Wiki Loves Women/SheSaid 2025/CentralNotice that don't have a completed translation, or had no or a problematic landing page, will not go live. I left my notes in the table there. If there's something that needs updating, please ping me here! Ciell (talk) 19:37, 4 September 2025 (UTC)reply
@Ciell: Thoughts on changing the color scheme to a more standard one? At the very least I'd recommend we change the white text, as it is not accessible. Thinking mostly about the "we recommend that you avoid overly distracting designs" part of the new guidelines. The bright yellow and purple is quite distracting in light mode, and in dark mode is really experience-breaking. Best, Vermont (🐿️—🏳️🌈) 02:13, 5 September 2025 (UTC)reply
@Afek91 with regards to Vermont's concern above, would it be okay for you if I for instance change the color of the banner to a light yellow, and the white text to a dark grey? Ciell (talk) 15:39, 5 September 2025 (UTC)reply
@Vermont fyi, I expect @Afek91 back in office tomorrow, but if she doesn't respond I'll change the colors in the banner per my proposal. SheSaid has a new design and color palette every year, that they use for their swag and prints as well, which I why I hope they can agree or give alternatives to the issue you raise. Discussion
We'd like to continue the campaign from last year (request). The banner will only be running for two days before the first Wednesday of each month, and will be targeted to users with less than 100 edits.
