ESEAP Conference 2018 is a regional conference for Wikimedia communities around the ESEAP regions. ESEAP stands for East and South East Asia, and Pacific. Taking place in Bali, Indonesia on 5-6 May 2018, this is the first regional conference for the Wikimedia communities around the regions.
BackgroundEast and Southeast Asia, and Pacific are most under-represented regions within the Wikimedia community. There is a significant number of Wikimedia contributors coming from our regions, yet we continue to struggle with establishing a well-managed community. This conference will bring participants from various ESEAP communities together in order to understand deeper about the issues and to look for the solutions. It also aims to connect people of the Wikimedia movement within ESEAP regions, to share ideas, and to build regional collaboration that are impossible to be achieved through online communication. |

Wikimedians in the East and Southeast Asia and Pacific regions, especially those who are actively involved or have large interests in local community development, may join the conference.
