- Arlo James Barnes — Mission mentions 'under a free license or in the public domain' but that only applies to the 'educational content'; it mentions 'essential infrastructure' but not how it is procured; and it mentions 'useful information [...] free of charge': if the information and the content is the same, then it is both gratis and libre. Why not ensure the tools we are using for the projects meet that bar too?

Group norms
Exceptions to implicit feudalism like Wikipedia and Debian have required considerable, intentional effort to counteract the implicit feudalism of their tools' defaults.[1] (FOSS community governance examples:<ref> Here we attempt to describe de facto norms, decision-making methods and technopolitical power structures within the Wikimedians for software freedom group. While free-and-open-source software makes it easier to avoid implicit feudalism, it is not a guarantee. Given our aim, we should be especially sensitive to not making a utopian claim.
