About the Campaign

The #SheSaid campaign is part of the Wiki Loves Women initiative. Launched on October 20, 2020, the project celebrates leading women and their voices by encouraging the creation and improvement of Wikiquote articles that feature women’s quotations.

The campaign aims to:

Increase the visibility of notable women on Wikiquote
Amplify women’s voices globally
Inspire participation across multiple languages

To participate, create or improve a Wikiquote article and add #SheSaid to your edit summary before you Publish. Central coordination: Wiki Loves Women/SheSaid on Meta.

How to Participate

You can help strengthen women’s presence on Wikiquote by contributing in many ways.

Create or Improve Articles

Start new Wikiquote pages about notable women

 → See Wikiquote:SheSaid/RedLists or Wikiquote:SheSaid/SheSaid Africa

Expand or source existing pages

 → Add citations with {{citation needed}}

Improve core topics related to women, such as:

 * Women
 * Gender bias on Wikipedia
 * Women and HIV/AIDS
 * Sexism

Organize and Categorize

Add women to the correct categories, e.g. Category:Women or Category:Women by country
Merge small categories; only create new ones if needed
Add "See also" sections to related pages
Add DEFAULTSORT using magic words
