Although Wikitext is a markup language used to write pages at wiki-based websites, some softwares and tools use or support wikitext.

GitHub parses any file that has a name ends with .mediawiki, .wiki or .wikitext^{[citation needed]} using WikiCloth.^[1]
Middleman, a static site generator has an options to use WikiCloth as the template engine.^[2]
Wikven is a static site generator using MediaWiki and also supports Wikitext.^[3]
