The SectionAnchors extension adds buttons to section headings. On the mouse hover over section anchors, buttons are shown that allow users to copy the URL to the respective heading on the clipboard. This eases sharing such links, e.g., on instant messengers.

Installation

Add the repo url (https://github.com/wikimedia/mediawiki-extensions-SectionAnchors

.git) as a "vcs repository" and the package name (mediawiki/SectionAnchors) and version to the require section of your composer.local.json. Example:

Run the following command in your MediaWiki installation path

composer update --no-dev

Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php file:

wfLoadExtension( 'SectionAnchors' );

Done Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.
