I've seen the phrase that "Watchlist behavior and emails are not affected by the mute list". |

Why the watchlist is not affected by this? |

For example I thought that this option was allowing me to completely suppress notifications from alter-ego accounts like "User Name (Organization)" VS "User Name". So, I'm quite surprised that I still receive whatchlist notifications if my alter ego edits pages in my watch-list. |

I'm unsure to visualize the use-case where I should be interested in muting one user but still getting news about their specific edits. |

Is there a way to speed up notifications?
I frequently receive Alerts and Notifications much later than the date they were created. This is a hassle especially when my User-Talk-page orange bar does not indicate I have a new posting from someone.
So far I have not been able to figure out if this happens:
- Only on certain wikis?
- Is it because of my geographical location?
- Does it have anything to do with my status at a particular wiki?
- The category of the Alert or Notice?
- Does it depend on my frequency of contributions?
- How many notices I receive at any particular time?
