Alvorens uw voorkeuren te kunnen wijzigen moet u zich inloggen. Hierna klikt u op de Preferences$ link in de rechterbovenhoek. U wordt doorverwezen naar uw Gebruikersprofiel waar u een keuzerij met allerhande instellingen vind waar u het nodige kunt doen.

Gebruikers profiel

Gebruikersprofiel

• "Gebruikersnaam:" Uw gebruikersnaam. Enkel bureaucraten kunnen uw gebruikersnaam wijzigen, en de wiki moet ook het Renameuser extension geïnstalleerd hebben.
• "Gebruikersnummer:" Een nummer dat toegekend is tot je account vanaf het ogenblik dat je jezelf registreerde (bijvoorbeeld indien je nummer 42 is, dan ben jij de 42ste gebruiker die zich registreerde voor een bepaalde wiki). Dit nummer wordt gebruikt voor intern gebruik.
• Aantal bewerkingen: How many edits you have made. Not all wikis will have this.
• Echte naam: If provided, this will be used for attribution (rather than using your username). Providing your real name is entirely optional. Some wikis do not have this option.
• "E-mailadres:" Uw emailadres, mocht u er één opgegeven hebben. Hier heeft u de mogelijkheid om dit adres te wijzigen of te verwijderen.
• "Nieuwe handtekening:" Wanneer u uw naam hier opgeeft (gebruikmakend van ~~~~), zal wat u hier inbrengt gebruikt gemaakt worden vanaf het begin in plaats van een eenvoudige link naar uw gebruikerspagina. De standaardinstelling zorgt ervoor dat alles wat u hier intikt verborgen zal blijven door [[ ]], indien u speciale koppelingen wil gebruiken, activeer dan "ruwe handtekeningen (zonder automatische link)".

Taal:" Dit controleert in welke taal de interface weergegeven wordt. MediaWiki's standaard interface bevat lokalisaties voor alle ondersteunde talen, maar dit is niet noodzakelijk het geval voor extensies of op maat gemaakte skins. De tekst op de pagina zal "niet" vertaald worden, noch de templates (tenzij de templates tekst lokalisatie integreren).

Verander uw wachtwoord

Teneinde uw wachtwoord te wijzigen, tikt u uw oud wachtwoord eerst in het bovenste vakje en hierna uw nieuw in de onderste twee. Wilt u dat deze website zich herinnert van uw login, klik dan op "Herinner mijn login op deze computer". Let erop dat opdat deze functie werkt, uw browser cookies moet aanvaarden. Ook : indien het cookie gewist of vervallen is zult u niet langer herinnerd worden.

E-mail

Indien u ons een emailadres bezorgd heeft, gelieve dan op "controleer adres" te klikken opdat u deze functies kunt gebruiken. U zult een email ontvangen, gelieve die te openen en op de link te klikken om de volgende functies te activeren.

• Mij e-mailen bij bewerkingen van pagina’s of bestanden op mijn volglijst
• Mij e-mailen bij antwoorden op een onderwerp dat ik volg
• Mij e-mailen bij kleine bewerkingen van pagina’s en bestanden op mijn volglijst
• Andere gebruikers toestaan mij e-mails te sturen
• Mij een kopie zenden van e-mails die ik naar andere gebruikers stuur

Talen

From your preferences you can select what language you would like the interface to be in. Only the buttons like 'edit' and 'talk', in addition to a few pages in the sidebar, will be affected. The main text of the pages will not be changed by this for the vast majority of pages, although there are a few pages where it will, like some in the Wikimedia Meta Wiki.

Skin

Here you can choose the skin you want to use. You can preview the available skins before choosing them, by clicking on the "Voorvertoning" link next to each skin. Please refer to Help:Vormgevingen for more details.

Math

Here you can control how mathematical equations described using the <math> tag will be displayed. Mathematical formulae uploaded as images or written outside the math tag will not be affected by this setting. Note the math preferences will only be visible if Extension:Math is installed.

Files

Here you can determine how images will be displayed. Images displayed by direct pasting of a URL (if the wiki has it enabled) will not be affected by this setting.

• Maximale afmetingen van afbeeldingen op de beschrijvingspagina: This setting lets you choose how big image previews will be on the Image: pages. If you know what your current screen resolution is you may like to set this to one or two sizes smaller than your own screen. If you have a slow connection (such as dial-up) you may want to limit them to 320×240.
• Grootte miniatuurafbeelding: Define how big you want thumbnails to appear. This setting will not affect thumbnails with dimensions determined by an editor, nor can it increase images beyond their original dimensions.

Editing

These are the settings to control editing pages, including the size of the edit box displayed, and whether to automatically watch pages that you have edited or created.

Recent changes

• Weer te geven dagen in recente wijzigingen: Here you can specify how far back the recent changes pages will go. Note that the list will stop prematurely if the number of edits is exceeded (see below).
• Standaard aantal weer te geven bewerkingen in de recente wijzigingen, paginageschiedenis en de logboeken: Here you can specify how many edits should be displayed.

• Kleine bewerkingen in recente wijzigingen verbergen: This enables you to hide edits marked as minor (see Help:Pagina's bewerken ). Since some users will rapidly make a lot of tiny tweaks to update templates or fix spelling errors you may find enabling this to be useful. You can also turn this on temporarily from the recent changes page (see Help:Wijzigingen bijhouden ).
• Wijzigingen per pagina groeperen in recente wijzigingen en op mijn volglijst: Enhanced recent changes condenses edits into a per-page list. As indicated, this requires JavaScript to be enabled. See Help:Wijzigingen bijhouden for more information on this feature.

Watchlist

These are the settings to control the behavior of the watchlist (See Help:Volglijst ). Most of these options are also available on the watchlist display itself, but by setting them in your preferences, you control the default behavior of the watchlist i.e., it will perform the same actions every time you visit the page.

Search

Default settings for searches including how many results to display and how much context to show for each result. Check the boxes next to the namespaces which you want to show up, the first time that you search for something. You can override this when doing an actual search, by checking or unchecking the boxes at the bottom of the search results screen.

Misc

This section includes those settings which do not fall under another category, such as page numbering and justification.
