Requests for adminship
Important notice: Please do not request sysop status on this site if you plan to request a subdomain, and to mainly participate in that subdomain. Please wait until your subdomain is created, and request to be an admin there.
Hello there, I'd like to request sysop access. The reason for this is that I regularly patrol recent changes and it would be more practical for me to handle deletions and blocks myself. I'm an admin on mediawiki.org and on Meta, also a rollbacker on en.wiki and on the commons and a global rollbacker (verify)... Thanks! –BruTe 07:31, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- I'll be neutral on this. For now the expressed skills are adequately covered, but having skills available in yet another language is a clear plus. If there is clear support for this adminship I'll be happy to process it. Eclecticology 19:06, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
- Support - Maximillion Pegasus 12:17, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- support, additionally he can manage here the Georgian texts where we had some troubles in the past. -jkb- 10:09, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- support, by jkb's arguments and BruTe's as well (can we delete Template:User ru-4? it's blanked by you, BruTe, thks). -Aleator (talk) 23:47, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, I've tagged it. Thks. –BruTe 06:51, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
- appointed ThomasV 10:57, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you all, I'll do my best to be useful for this project. –BruTe 11:29, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
Vote for removal of administrator privileges
This vote is only for the admins listed under "Inactive administrators." Please vote whether you feel that the admins should keep or lose their sysop rights. As this site has no steward, adminship is removed through m:Requests for permissions. If you are being listed here, but intend to resume admin duties, please indicate this so that others can re-evaluate whether you should be desysoped. Sysops who are desysoped due to inactivity are encouraged to resume administration whenever they wish, either by talking to a crat or initiating a request above.
User:Innv
- Innv (talk • contribs • global contribs) has been blocked on ruwiki as a sockpuppet, and has failed to respond to inquires regarding the block. Additionally, please see m:Meta:Requests for adminship/Innv (removal). I am requesting this users admin rights be removed. Tiptoety 03:21, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- VasilievVV indeed did a accusation on June 18, but although asked for further details and information he did not answered for weeks, see m:Steward requests/Permissions/2010-06#Innv, my remark there as well, and m:User talk:VasilievVV#Innv update?. Probably the desysopping is right, but on the other side I am not amused about the ominous notices without any other clarification for weeks. Another talk see m:Requests for comment/Locally indef-blocked global sysops. -jkb- 08:31, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- Please see this comment (from an Ombudsman) which confirms this user to be a sockpuppet. Tiptoety 08:34, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, I have just read it as it was linked on meta; above I have also said that the desysop is right; what I do not like are accusations without further informations that stay there for weeks. That is not right. -jkb- 08:41, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- He hasn't edited here since February, and may very well soon qualify for desysopping on that basis alone. The standards for a global sysop should indeed be higher when a person may be taking action in projects where no-one will see what they are doing. There is no evidence of misbehaviour on his part in this project, so when someone without any edit history here arrives for the sole purpose of taking punitive action against another individual I suspect a personal agenda. I suggest no immediate action other than to keep a close watch on Innv's future edits, if any. In due course, desysopping for inactivity may very well be the appropriate and far less controverial way to go. Eclecticology 01:02, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- I have no personal agenda. I too am a global sysop and an admin on various other projects. My request here is simply in the interest of the project. Innv has made it clear (diffs provided on the meta DRfA) that his gaining syop on a multitude of projects was a social experiment to see how many flags a banned sockpuppet can gain. As such, I felt it was in the best interest of this community to ask for Innv's sysop rights to be removed. Please, assume good faith. Thanks, Tiptoety talk 04:59, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
