Richard Buxton, born 23 September 1946, one of Australia’s great modern day adventurers and a successful business man, spanning over 40 years in construction and development in Melbourne. |

Born in Melbourne, Richard was educated by Jesus priests at Xavier College, starting his Buxton Construction & Property business in 1968, married Terry in 1972 and has 2 children Samantha and Annabelle who both work in the property development industry. |

Richard raced ocean yachts from an early age of 18 years, after initially starting to sail at the age of 5 years. |
|||
He took up flying light aeroplanes at age 35 and spent 20 years crossing the Australian continent, many times as a solo pilot. |
|||
In 2000 Richard started the 1st of his circumnavigation by sailing around Tasmania and in 2002-3 flew the entire coastline of Australia. In 2005-07 Richard sailed the coastline of the Australian mainland. |

8000 photos later and an initial 150,000 word manuscript the coffee table book ‘If Matthew Flinders Had Wings’ is now published and all profits from the sale of the book go to Mental Health research, primary focus is the prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease. |

First to sail and fly the coastline of Australia and produce a best selling coffee table book, which raises needed funds for Mental Health Research. |

The Buxton Family Epsilon Research Fund Inc is devoted to raising funds through adventure, a win win that attracts attention and awareness for mental health. |

Next is a 5 year global circumnavigation and a series of short photographic stories that can be produced and sold around the world to maintain the enthusiasm generated over the last 10 years by Richard Buxton as an amateur author, photographer, philanthropist, and adventurer. |
