I have contributed a couple of books to [[en:Project Gutenberg|Project Gutenberg]] and started a few others. But I have found the wiki to be a better fit for my style of editing: spending small blocks of time on multiple projects. This style keeps me from getting overly board with any single project. As a result, I will be focusing my future efforts to produce Wikisource versions of books which will loosely fit into the category of "history". My first endeavor—William J. Bryan's ''[[The First Battle: A Story of the Campaign of 1896]]''—is a good example of what I mean. It provides a biographical sketch of a famous political figure and reprints many of his speeches. |

I have also been interested in how a wiki might be used to produce a very rich [[en:frame tale|frame tale]]. Even though other sources exist on the Internet, I might at some point try to convert a book like ''[[en:1001 Nights|1001 Nights]]'' or ''[[en:Canterbury Tales|Canterbury Tales]]'' to the wiki format. Bryan's book exhibits some of the qualities of the frame narrative in that it nests his speeches with the chapter text. The speeches can be viewed as complete entities, and I have separated them from the text while linking them to the place in the chapter where they were printed. |
